In this short tutorial I’ll show you how to add video background in Google sites. When you try to click on the change image or upload image button you’ll be able to select only image formats like jpeg, png and gif. When you try to select an mp4 or similar video format you won’t be able to do so. Now you might be thinking if I am not able to upload a video then How am I going to get the video background. The simple answer is GIF. GIF is an image file format that supports animation and before uploading our video we have to convert it to GIF.
Covert MP4 to GIF
There are tons of free converters out there that let you change mp4 to gif but I used ezgif.com for my demo and I liked it, but you are free to choose the one that you love.
Upload GIF as a Background
Once you have successfully converted the video to GIF then simply upload the newly converted GIF to a google sites section and you’ll have that nice looking video background in Google Sites.
Please keep in mind since the gif file can be large in size so if it does not appear straight away after you publish please don’t panic, just wait for some time and it will appear or better look for a much compressed gif that is very small in size.
